This year’s July 4 parade was a banner success. There was no rain, as happened last year when the parade was cancelled, and more people joined the parade. Vintage cars, strollers, golf carts, two city firetrucks, and more, drove, walked, and pedaled nearly a mile round trip from and to the grounds of the Aldrich Mansion. Free iced coffee, lemonade (thank you Pres O Strange O), cookies and watermelon were happily consumed by everyone. What remained was the shared pleasure of celebrating our nation’s 248th birthday.
